What is it? The Jimmy! A Three Channel 50 Watt All Tube Amplifier made in the USA!! (Statesboro, Georgia to be exact). When we say made in the USA, we mean it! The Transformers, Grill Cloth, Chassis, Circuit Boards, Tolex, Handle and even the KNOBS are all made in the USA. The only thing we get from across the pond are speakers (Italy) and vacuum tubes (Russia).
HOLY CRAP, WHEN? We'll be releasing the Jimmy to the public around January or February 2012. (It's in prototype 2 stage as you read this).
WAIT A DANG MINUTE… HOW MUCH? We can't quite say at the moment. We're still doing our final prototype work and finalizing our costs. But it will be one of the finest built American Amplifiers on the market and cost WAY LESS THAN YOU THINK for a three channel amplifier!
You said three channels… Explain yourself, sir! Okay, okay… The Jimmy is broken into two primary channels–a clean channel similar to the vintage American amps of yesteryear and a high gain stage like you would expect from an American boutique amplifier. The third channel is called "dirt". It's like having a sweet stomp box built right into the amplifier. So instead of three channels, it actually acts like FOUR CHANNELS!!! You read that right, dude! The "dirt" channel can be played over the clean channel (giving you a dirty tone), or over the overdrive channel (giving you a nice saturated heavy tone). I know…. sweet, right?
What the heck does WAY LESS mean? Way less means that this amplifier won't have a comma in it's price tag.
So this amp is manufactured completely in the USA, acts like a four channel amplifier, is built tough as nails, and will be a boutique quality amplifier that's PRICED like it came from somewhere else? Yes. Now you're getting what I'm laying down.
Why? Because it's about time.
